We at Emma J Aesthetics are so passionate about Ultherapy and what it can achieve for our clients. We’re always taking about it on our Facebook page, where you can find demonstration videos and treatment photos, but you might’ve missed certain posts and media about it. In this blog post, we’re going to explore absolutely everything you need to know about Ultherapy, how it works, and why we’re so proud to be the only clinic in Inverness providing this advanced treatment.

Everything you need to know about Ultherapy

Ultherapy uses the science and proteins locked inside your skin to naturally lift and tighten your target areas. Entirely non-surgical and non-invasive, Ultherapy uses ultrasound waves to stimulate the body’s natural repair and rejuvenation process deep within the layers of the skin called neocollagenesis. It’s use of ultrasound waves allows us to identify different layers of the skin in detail, so we can be sure we’re targeting the same areas that surgeons typically treat.

Known as the non-surgical facelift, Ultherapy can effortlessly create surgical results without ever breaking the skin. By prompting the skin to create new collagen and elastin proteins essential to youthful skin, we can lift and tighten the skin from deeper layers than traditional treatments can achieve. Production of these fibres in the skin naturally ceases in our 20s and by our 30s their presence begins a slow and unyielding decline. Topical ‘anti-ageing’ creams and treatments can’t stimulate their production within the deeper layers of the skin, where their presence really makes a difference. Ultherapy’s ability to do so reinstates a fresh vibrancy to your skin. A popular facial treatment area is around the eyes, which traditional treatments have previously found problematic to treat. Ultherapy smooths under-eye wrinkles efficiently and safely, ensuring surgical results without cutting the skin at all.

It’s not just for use on the face, however. While it is popular for facial tightening, skin firming, and amicably coined the non-surgical facelift, it can also target other areas. Common areas of complaint for those experiencing loose or folding skin is the jawline, neck, and décolletage area, which Ultherapy effectively treats. These areas are often exposed to a lot of sun, pollutants in the air, and aren’t as rigorously maintained as our facial skin may be. We can have all the best intentions for our skincare routine, but how far does it tend to stretch down our neck and chest? By using the same principle of new collagen production and deep skin tissue stimulation, we can lift and tighten the problematic areas like the neck and chest easily and safely.

Your questions answered

Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?

Those who are experiencing loose, sagging, or folding skin and want to tighten or firm it will benefit from Ultherapy. Common traits associated with ageing skin, sun damage, or lost skin elasticity are good indicators that Ultherapy could deliver great results for you. A lowered eyebrow line, sagging skin of the eyelids, or the appearance of jowls are common complaints that indicate you might be a good candidate to receive this advanced treatment. Of course, at your initial consultation you can discuss all of this with Emma herself.

How many treatments will I need?

We find that the majority of clients only need one treatment to achieve their fantastic results! However, some may benefit from more than one treatment depending on their own biological reaction to treatment and current skin laxity. We can’t prevent the ageing process or stop your skin from developing new lines and folds, but we can treat those that are present at the time of your appointment. Repeat appointments for ‘touch ups’ will be needed to maintain your results.

When will I see my results?

Your results will continue to develop over the two to three months following your treatment, which is great for those seeking discrete rejuvenation. There is no tell-tale stark difference immediately, your results will develop naturally yet effectively.
